I had a lot of fun working on this project with Adam Rubin for his book Gladys the Magic Chicken.

We filmed with my chickens on a scorching day in Summer 2021 at my house in the Hudson Valley. They’re Plymouth (Barred) Rocks, a breed known for their curiosity and temperament and are used to being handled by me (and didn’t give Adam too much trouble either). They were compensated with plenty of mealworms in compliance with the Clucker’s Union.

I shot, recorded and edited Adam and the girls, plus b-roll of the book. I also had the pleasure of arranging and producing the marvellous original song, written by Sean Douglas, with lyrics by Adam Rubin. The incredible Nikki Garcia is featured on vocals.
