Frye & Harris is a New York-based improvising duo that draws on a wealth of shared musical influences, exploring the intersection of jazz and electronic music.

Bob Frye is a pianist and keyboardist specializing in synthesizers and sound design. He also plays Tibetan singing bowls and gongs.

He has shared the stage with artists including: Jeff Lorber, Lee Ritenour, Airto & Floria Purim, Larry Carlton, Stephane Grappelli, Jaco Pastorious, and Seawind.

Bob studied jazz improvisation with the great jazz trombonist Jimmy Cheatham, and composition with Roger Reynolds, John Cage, and Pauline Olivieros.

Alex Harris plays saxophone, EWI (Electric Wind Instrument), and synthesizers.

Alex has performed with Dave Liebman, Kenny Wheeler, Henry Lowther, Norma Winstone, Tim Garland and David Friesen. He has also toured the world extensively with a number of groups playing jazz, funk, pop and rock, often for celebrities, royal families and titans of industry.

Alex studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Jean Touissant (The Jazz Messengers), Martin Hathaway, Barry Green, Pete Churchill and Christian Forshaw.
